When the AC kicks on, the blower motor connected to the squirrel cage fan binds up and won't turn. It just sits there and hums . . . not good. Sep 10, 2008 · You can use wd-40 to free up the motor shaft from the bearings .Turn off the power to the fan and spray wd around the shaft where it enters the motor and at the rear.Use a little at a time and rotate the fan blade in both directions until it is free.Just make sure it is just the bearings that need lubrication.
